This page helps you get started with editing your course area on the courses.mooc.fi platform.
- Create a MOOC.fi user account
- Log in to the course platform
- Send a message to your contact person on the MOOC Center team.
You can view your course area in either
- student view (as a student will see the material) or
- admin view (where you can edit the course material).
On the platform front page, select your organization. The organization page lists all course area that you have access to.
- To view your course area in student view, click anywhere in the grey box (1. in the image below)
- To edit your course area, click on the cog icon (2. in the image below)
In the admin view, click select the pages tab (see image below).
Course areas on platform are organized into these elements:
- Course front page: The landing page for your course. Give just enough information to help students decide whether your course is suitable / interesting to them.
- Top level pages: Pages where you can give students information about the course, for example, you can create pages for the following topics: FAQ, how to study the course, who the contributors of the course are, exam instructions, etc. Do not use top level pages for actual study content of the course.
- Chapters: The study material of the course is organized in chapters. Chapters are displayed on the course area front page as chapter cards. More information on editing chapter on the Editing chapters and chapter cards page.
- Chapter front page: Each chapter has a chapter front page before the actual study material starts. This page is useful for showing teh students a visualization of the their progress in the chapter (exercises attempted and points). You can also add a brief introduction to the chapter on this page.
- Chapter pages: Pages in this chapter shows a list of all study content pages in a chapter.
