I understand that we can configure time-dependent network (e.g., free flow speed, number of lanes, flow capacity) for MATSim simulation. I was wondering if I can have time-dependent input parameters for mobsim (i.e., qsim) in MATSim. For instance, I want to make the parameters in 'qsim' (e.g., the flow capacity factor in the 'qsim' module) to vary with the time of day. For example, since we can set up the start and end time for the 'qsim' module, is that possible to set up multiple 'qsim' in one single configuration so that we can specify the active period for each 'qsim' module? Would you please let me know if there’s a way/possible that I can make the parameters of mobsim in MATSim time-dependent? Thank you in advance.

Dear Chao,
no, it is not possible to vary QSim parameters per time of day. If your focus is on flow capacity, you can emulate this by generating a time-dependent network that adjusts the flow capacity of all links in the network at the desired times of day. I have no experience with time-dependent networks, but it should be rather simple to write the script to generate such a network change event file.
