How to install Apachearchiver Basic Support on Eclipse?

by Jack Hill on 2016-08-29 22:12:54

Hi All,

I am trying to set-up MATsim based on the installing Matsim and first runs lecture slides from the MATsim public tutorial 2016.

I get up to step 10: Checking out the example project, but get an error from eclipse.

Here is the lecture slide:

And here is what I get when I try on Eclipse;

It says I need to install mavenarchiver basic support. The only issue I have is that I don't know where to find it.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

This has always worked for us without such an additional download.  Maybe you have the wrong eclipse bundle? Please have a look at http://matsim.org/docs/devguide/eclipse .  (This may not be stated in the tutorial since our students get a pre-installed eclipse.)

Hi Kai,

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it.

I've followed the instructions based on the hyper link from your last post. Including ensuring that I had the msot up to date Java SDK, installing Eclipse IDE for Java Developers, configuring eclipse and ensuring that it runs from a JDK.

I've also used the install software feature to install any m2e packages and still end up with the same compiler error.

Is there anything else I can do?

Kind Regards,

Jack

Hi Kai,

You were right I did have the wrong eclipse bundle. I was using Eclipse Kelper and as soon as I installed Eclipse Neon for IDE for Java Developers I didn't receive the same runtime error.

Thank you for your help.

Kind Regards,

Jack
