Old Business

  • Islandora 7.x-1.3 release updates (Nick & Melissa)

    • Today is release day! - Release email has been sent. Remaining tasks are documentation updating.
  • Islandora Sandbox (Donald & Paul)

  • Future Releases (Lessons Learned)

    • More component managers - Nick had a large volume of components to manage in addition to the release. Need to pursue acquisition of managers more actively.
    • Communication was not very effective on the list, because many people are not reading everything on the list. May need a new communication practice for release components. For the next release TODO: Create release mailing list.
    • Documentation Document Interest Group should take a role and approach to release documentation (updating and publication around a release)
    • JIRA Tickets for improvement - Jira tickets could be for desired new features and could be used to engage crowdfunding. We need to update text in https://github.com/Islandora/islandora/wiki/How-Islandora-Code-gets-Made#contributing-to-islandora and look an evolution of the approach taken to ticketing for improvements. Should ticket for new modules. The latest release only shows two improvements, when there are a large number of new modules released.
  • Nick has volunteered for the next release

  • Travis server keeps going down, and is taking a long time to fix. So we need a new CI approach that includes shared responsibility. DGI has been spending more and more time maintaining and hosting the public CI server. Requires a team of two to go back and make a recommendation re: approach (next step for an institution to host CI) Nick Volunteers alongside Nigel. TODO: Report back to group in a coming meeting.

  • Islandora Interest Groups:

  • Islandora/Fedora 4 Alpha Project

    • should be synced with announcement of Fedora 4 Interest group - week of May 5? Intent behind interest group. TODO: Sam and Mark - Draft press release about Fedora 4 should go out next week.
  • Crowdfunding possibilities - brainstorming document - picking a project that would lend itself to a crowdsource funding approach. This is a list of potential projects. Meeting members spent time working on this document.
