- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: Sorry to be late starting the group chat. Mark said he would be late coming in today. All that Donald and I can think about that we might discuss is the releases
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: What about you Paul? Anything you would like to put on an agenda?
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: David writes: "not really - we're in the middle of sprint that includes mostly client-specific stuff. Jonathan packaged RC2 which is up on releasetester. planning on doing a full release after this sprint if no other majot issues arise"
- Donald Moses: k
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: If RC2 is tagged, maybe I should ask Melissa to send out a notice. We're sending out a 6 RC1 today.
- Paul Pound: yeah i don't have much I've been in a fedora futures sprint for the last week and a bit
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: 6 code is pretty much ready to go, but we can't release the VM until we can have the finalized 7 code. So, Melissa's focusing on documentation and sandbox stuff. She'll probably flip to the 7 docs now that the release tester is updated.
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: And Daniel's been helping us there.
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: David - when do you think we'll move from RC2 to the full release? And, are you guys providing release notes?
- David Wilcox: probably at the end of this sprint if no major issues arise. I'm going to try to gather together some release notes
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: Thanks David. We can format/formalize them up on our end, even if you just want to send over a point-form list.
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: End of this sprint is next Friday, right?
- David Wilcox: yes it is
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: Okay. Would it be possible to package up the release next Wednesday to give us a couple of days for sandbox and VM, or do you want to say you'll package next Friday (and we'll send the release next Wednesday?)
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: I'm happy to do voice if folk prefer
- David Wilcox: I'm assuming we'll package closer to Friday and plan to send it out the following week
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: Sounds good. And can you provide the release notes in that same timeline, do you think?
- David Wilcox: Yeah I'll work on those next week. It'll basically just be a feature summary and some notes on known issyes
- David Wilcox: *issues
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: perf. Okay so the conclusions are (I'll paste this into notes):
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: 1. Notify dev list of RC2 for Islandora 7 and RC1 for Islandora 6 today.
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: 2. Packages and notes to be delivered next Friday, with the release scheduled tentatively for next Wednesday.
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: Sound good?
- Donald Moses: yep
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: k. David - any issues/concerns there? Is the latest version of image annotation on release tester?
- David Wilcox: it is but it doesn't work with the latest code
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: and we don't have Paul, so it's probably getting removed from this release. Is that right?
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: (Donald?Paul?)
- David Wilcox: yeah, Paul said he'd have a look when he gets a chance
- David Wilcox: but it won't be packaged with the release
- Donald Moses: paul is committed until next wednesday
- Donald Moses: i believe the code is ready and needs to be tested
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: David is saying it doesn't work with RC2
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: ?
- Paul Pound: it shouldn't take long to fix we have it running with pretty recent code but the code was always just upgraded i haven't done a fresh install with the latest code so some of the installer stuff may have changed
- Donald Moses: so i'm guessing that it won't be in this release
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: Maybe we can do a separate release a few days later. But yeah, seems like we should get this out the door asap. Okay, I'll let Melissa know about the RCs, and paste this Skype into a notes page. Anything else, or should we call this a Roadmap meeting? (Anything we should discuss re: Fedora Futures? I'm guessing that can be for next time once the sprint is done...)
- Paul Pound: yeah i have a link to a wiki that gives a good description of where were at one sec
- Paul Pound: https://github.com/futures/islandora/wiki/Islandora-on-FCREPO4
- Kirsta Stapelfeldt: awesome. I'll make sure that makes it into notes.
