Head Gaze and Pointer Visualization

This feature allows you to show where you are pointing/looking at during a collaborative session in VIAProMa. It is activated automatically when you enter a virtual room through the Main Menu.

If you are using a Microsoft HoloLens, the hit position of your head gaze (the dot in the middle of your frame) is going to be shared. If you are using an HTC Vive, the hit position of your controller's pointer is going to be shared when you click the button on the controller. You cannot share your gaze on other devices.

In addition to your gaze/pointer, your username and device (HoloLens/Vive) are shared so that others in a room know who you are and what you are using.

Following controls for gaze/pointer sharing are available after you join a room through the Main Menu:

  1. You can enable/disable sharing your gaze/pointer using the "Share/Unshare my Gaze" button.
  2. You can switch seeing others' gazes/pointers on/off using the "Enable/Disable Gazing" button.
  3. You can change your pointer object using the "Change Object" button.
