11th SunoikisisDC Common Session - An introduction to treebanking

Class 2: morphology annotation

Class

For computer conferencing, we will discuss how to:

  1. use audio and video for a Google Hangout (equipment, software)
  2. connect for a test Hangout session (date, time)

In Perseids / Arethusa, we will learn how to:

  1. create new treebank
  2. select texts from existing sources
  3. import texts by pasting
  4. import texts by CTS addresses
  5. annotate morphology
  6. submit an annotation for review

We will annotate passages from Hill already accessible via Arethusa's selector:

  4. Read Introduction to treebanking
  5. Import the Pentekontaetia set into Arethusa, study three simple sentences, comment (use the Arethusa commenting feature!)
