This is the first tagged release of the RespiraWorks ventilator design.
This snapshot constitutes a milestone in our development, but provides no guarantees of stability or functionality.
The sole utility of this design is to allow distributed teams to build prototypes for further R&D with test lungs and other bench-top testing devices.
This design is decidedly NOT TO BE USED WITH LIVE PATIENTS.
Any work with concentrated oxygen constitutes a severe fire hazard. DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME.
This release provides the following:
- fully documented manufacturing design for an enclosed prototype
- electronics design: main-board design
- software for controller that implements 2 pressure modes
- graphical interface in English, with some proof of concept alarms
- deployment scripts for software
- proof of concept for inhalation effort detection
- proof of concept for oxygen mixing and closed loop control
What it does NOT provide:
- interim daughter-board, which is in a separate but linked repository
- many essential software features not implemented, such as modes, alarms
- any guarantee of safety for working with concentrated oxygen
