This is the first tagged release of the RespiraWorks ventilator design.

This snapshot constitutes a milestone in our development, but provides no guarantees of stability or functionality.
The sole utility of this design is to allow distributed teams to build prototypes for further R&D with test lungs and other bench-top testing devices.

This design is decidedly NOT TO BE USED WITH LIVE PATIENTS.
Any work with concentrated oxygen constitutes a severe fire hazard. DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME.

This release provides the following:

  • fully documented manufacturing design for an enclosed prototype
  • electronics design: main-board design
  • software for controller that implements 2 pressure modes
  • graphical interface in English, with some proof of concept alarms
  • deployment scripts for software
  • proof of concept for inhalation effort detection
  • proof of concept for oxygen mixing and closed loop control

What it does NOT provide:

  • interim daughter-board, which is in a separate but linked repository
  • many essential software features not implemented, such as modes, alarms
  • any guarantee of safety for working with concentrated oxygen
