14 CANs
OPRE needs to know about, track, and manage all the money that is available to them. They need to ensure that they have "spent" (obligated) all the money they are responsible for. A CAN (common accounting number) is how OPRE knows what money is available to them.
To manage this money in OPS, OPRE needs a way to “deep-dive” into individual CANs as well as view multiple CANs aggregated across OPRE. There will be a page for every CAN (with multiple tabs for different information) and a list of all CANs (with various filters).
Each CAN has a lot of data associated with it; a description of its use, funding codes, budget information, spending across the budget lines using it, and more. All of this data is imported each fiscal year and updated as the CAN's budget and funding changes.

18F created the initial research plan and draft designs/prototypes. The research from 18F was a valuable starting point for the OPS team and saved us some time to start designing without needing to do much additional research.
