Unreal Engine Virtual Production Camera

Nick Porcino edited this page Nov 30, 2021 · 4 revisions

For reference, here is a list of camera parameters used by Unreal Engine for real-time Virtual Production. Some of these are calculated during the camera calibration process per lens. If the lens is a zoom, calibration needs to be done each time the zoom is mounted on the camera as the center point of the lens will change.

Camera:

  • Position
  • Rotation
  • Sensor Width and Height

Lens:

  • Lens Model Name

  • Lens Serial Number

  • Lens Model Type (Spherical)

  • Focus Distance

  • Aperture (F-Stop)

  • Zoom

  • Distortion K1..K6, P1, P2 ~ Brown-Conrady spherical distortion

  • Lens Center X,Y ~ optical center relative to the sensor center

  • Fx Fy ~ focal length x and y, in mm or OpenCV "focal pixels"

  • Nodal Point Offset (Location, Rotation) ~ convergence point of light rays through a lens, offset from camera pose
