This README file contains information on the contents of the openhab layer. openHAB is an open source project providing a user interface for home automation applications (see http://www.openhab.org/ for details). openHAB is made to be platform independent by using java. Please see the corresponding sections below for details. Dependencies ============ This layer depends on: URI: git://git.openembedded.org/bitbake branch: master URI: git://git.openembedded.org/openembedded-core layers: meta branch: master URI: git://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-oracle-java branch: master ** Alternative Java repo URI: https://github.com/jrbenito/meta-oracle-java.git branch: master The Yocto Project meta-oracle-java layer seems to be not working anymore because Oracle updated its website and also, the version this layer provides is not available. To circumvent this I cloned the repo above, upgraded the recipe pointing latest version available at Oracle site However, since Oracle now demands one to login before download, the recipe will fail do_fetch. Please follow my repo README instructions in order to manually download package; after that recipe will skip do_fetch and install Java correctly. Patches ======= Please submit any patches against the openhab layer to the yocto mailing list (https://lists.yoctoproject.org/listinfo/yocto) and cc: the maintainer: Maintainer: Ulf Winberg <[email protected]> Table of Contents ================= I. Adding the openhab layer to your build II. Misc I. Adding the openhab layer to your build ================================================= In order to use this layer, you need to make the build system aware of it. Assuming the openhab layer exists at the top-level of your yocto build tree, you can add it to the build system by adding the location of the openhab layer to bblayers.conf, along with any other layers needed. e.g.: BBLAYERS ?= " \ /path/to/yocto/meta \ /path/to/yocto/meta-yocto \ /path/to/yocto/meta-yocto-bsp \ /path/to/yocto/meta-oracle-java \ /path/to/yocto/meta-openhab \ " II. Misc ======== screen is used to automatically start openHAB at boot, and needs to be added to IMAGE_ISNTALL in your image recipe. e.g.: IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " screen" Both runtime and addon files are installed. You can choose to manually copy the addons you want to {path to openhab}/addons, or specifying the addons in the OPENHAB_ADDONS variable. For example, you can put the following in your local.conf: OPENHAB_ADDONS = "action.xbmc binding.xbmc"
