This release addresses crashes on X-Plane 12 beta 8. This beta build of X-Plane removed BP's ability to control the weather and temporarily change the weather in such a way that the pushback route can be seen. Thus, BP's utility in really low visibility (heavy IFR) will be reduced, as you may not be able to see the pushback route from very high up. Zoom in and move about a bit more with the click-and-drag mouse movements to work around this. Sorry, no way for me to change this, X-Plane 12 literally removed the ability for me to help you out there.

macOS notarized build

What's New

The build is now notarized for macOS, so you won't have to do the de-quarantining trick anymore. Simply unpack the ZIP archive to X-Plane's Resources/plugins and that's it.

What's New

This build of Better Pushback is an early experimental update to get it working with X-Plane 12. Some graphical glitches might remain, such as the lighting on the tugs being a bit off - WIP to get those looking right in XP12's new lighting engine.

X-Plane 11 remains fully supported (XP11.41+)

Native build for all XP11/12 platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac/x86 and Mac/ARM). Mac builds aren't notarized, so you'll have to either UNZIP from the command line, or de-quarantine the builds for now using sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine BetterPushback/mac_x64/BetterPushback.xpl

Feature updates will be coming shortly. This build is mostly to allow you to use BP as-is on XP12.

Vulkan & Metal Compatibility, Asynchronous Tug Model Loading

Compatibility Notice
This release of Better Pushback requires X-Plane 11.41 or later. Earlier releases are NOT compatible.

Enhancements:

• Rewrote path rendering to add support for Vulkan and Metal rendering in X-Plane 11.50
• Asynchronous tug loading - starting pushback will no longer lag the simulator as BetterPushback is loading in the tug model. Instead, the load will happen invisibly in the background.

Bugfixes:

• Implemented workaround for when X-Plane returns inverted-Y coordinate at certain sceneries using custom terminal buildings with inverted normals on the roof.

Catstrator audio, Mac audio fixes

• Updated to latest libacfutils to fix an audio initialization problem on Mac.
• Added US-English audio set courtesy of Catstrator.
• Switched minimum supported OSX version to 10.9.
• Removed 32-bit build. BetterPushback is now for 64-bit versions of X-Plane 10 and X-Plane 11 only.
