Welcome to the osso-project.github.io wiki!

At Rocana, we believe in openness. Openness gives technologists the flexibility and power to easily and quickly integrate their choice of IT systems, software and tools, as needed, to achieve maximum business results. Openness is the cornerstone of digital transformation.

In support of openness, we believe all IT systems that communicate operational event data should do so using a common, open format. To that end, we are proud founders of <link to Eric’s manifesto blog> and rabidly active contributors to the Osso open source project .

Osso provides a truly open standards-based, highly efficient schema for communicating operational event data between systems. In Osso, an event can represent a log message, stack trace, metric sample, user action taken, ad display or click, generic HTTP event, and much more.

When enterprises choose and build Osso compliant systems, they gain the freedom and flexibility to combine those systems as desired into an overall solution, without a costly integration effort. When solution vendors support Osso, they add significant business value to their products by enabling more integrations and use cases, as well as allying customer fears of vendor lock-in.
