About this release

Minecraft 1.20.6 is no longer supported. Support for Minecraft 1.21.3 and 1.21.4 will be added later this year.

Caves and Cliffs curse has reached AvM Staff mod, and because I want to add complete features instead of rushed features (like 🇪 😉), the following has been delayed to the next release:

  • Blue/Lapis/Villager Staff

This way, you get an update with gameplay improvements right now instead of a couple weeks later. Thank you for your patience.

The mod version now includes the loader and the version of Minecraft in the pre-release SemVer component instead of the build and patch components

What got changed since 0.19.x

  • Royal Staff
    • Now has a durability of 5179
    • Repairable with Royal Staff Ingredient
    • Adding/removing an item is now detected by sculk sensors on frequency 5
    • Now enchantable with Efficiency, Fortune, Mending, Silk Touch, Unbreaking, and Curse of Vanishing, as well as the new enchantments
    • Supported blocks can be picked up by moving close to them and holding the use key
      • Quick Draw enchantment makes picking up blocks faster
    • Only supported items can be inserted into the staff using commands; unsupported items will be deleted from the staff on load
  • Royal Staff with Bell
    • Right clicking is now detected by sculk sensors on frequency 10
    • Right clicking now adds Glowing status effect to nearby raider mobs
    • Attacking an entity with Spectre enchantment makes them glow for enchantment level * 10s
  • Royal Staff with Bone Block
    • When enchanted with Efficiency, it fertilizes a bigger area
  • Royal Staff with Cake/Magma Block/Snow Block/Wither Skeleton Skull
    • Rapid fire is now only available when enchanted with Rapid Fire
  • Royal staff with Campfire/Soul Campfire
    • Technical and visual overhaul the flame
  • Royal Staff with Magma Block
    • When enchanted with Power Charge, an explosive fireball is shot when left-clicking
  • Royal Staff with TNT
    • Throwing a TNT now plays Flint and Steel sound, just like in the animation
    • When enchanted with Distant Detonation, TNT can be thrown with the use key. Releasing the use key detonates the TNT
  • Royal Staff with Wither Skeleton Skull
    • When enchanted with Power Charge, a blue skull is shot when left-clicking
    • Cooldown is reduced by Quick Draw enchantment
  • Thrown cake
    • Its movement is now interpolated (looks less jittery)
  • Impact TNT
    • Explodes when hit without Silk Touch
    • Can be knocked back using an item enchanted with Silk Touch
  • Removed avm_staff:staff_renderer_override data component

  • Piglins don't pick up Crown of King Orange

Staff Mod 0.19.1-forge

This release brings Staff mod 0.15.0-0.19.1 features to Forge. See previous changelogs.

The future of Forge support

Some of the dependencies dropped support for Forge in favor of NeoForge.
I will update Staff mod for Forge as long as I see a demand for it and it's feasible to do so.

Note for mod developers

Forge builds of Staff mod after 0.14.0 are neither source, nor binary compatible with the Architectury (Fabric/NeoForge) builds.
