Given by the instructor Dr. Hui Yang @ SFSU CS Department:
Description: In this project, you will use a Compute Engine (IaaS) on Google Cloud Platform to implement a 3-tier web application. This application is required to contain the following components: A backend database or cloud storage (feel free to choose any of the GCP-supported options such as Cloud SQL, Datastore, and Cloud Bigtable ) that contains a simple table of student data. Specifically, this table is required to consist of the following attributes: (a) Student ID, (b) first name, (c) last name, (d) email, (e) mailing address, and (f) GPA. A web server (e.g., Apache web server ) A frontend web site that's accessible on the Internet. This website will allow the end users to (1) upload a new student's information into the database/storage; (2) search and display current students by student ID, first name, or last name; and (3) display all the students that are currently stored in the cloud storage. You can use any language of your choice to implement your web application. Optional: A user-friendly GUI.
This Flask project was created to allow a user to add records to a SQLite DB of students or search for records using first name, last name and/or student ID number of the students.
