Tiyi is the Chinese word for memory, those whispy things in our minds that allow us to relive things we've done and experienced in the past. A tiyi can be triggered by something we see, or a sound that we hear. However, our memories are our own, difficult to share, and even more difficult to understand. Tiyi.com changes that. Now, you can capture your memories as you experience them and then share them with others on thier laptop, mobile device, or even thier Smart-tv.
How do we do this? Two of the most important ways we experience memories are through sight and sound. Social networking sitea already allow us to catalog our visual memories in the form of pictures and videos, but it is difficult to focus on one event at a time. Tiyi.com takes these memories and pairs them with sounds, songs and other media to provide your memory both a visual and auditory context.
When we have important events in our life that we'd like to share, we invite our friends and family to participate. We send invitations to weddings, RSVP's to parties, and e-invites to other gatherings. If our friends can attend, thier participation creates a memory, or tiyi, they share with us. However, if we meet new friends and family, we can't share that memory other than through large photo-albums and videos. Maybe that is ok, but can they really understand the context, the importance of the song playing during the first dance at your wedding by looking at pictures of the dance? Can you really understand the happy-loudness of a party if your only frame-of-reference is a photo in an online album?
This is where Tiyi.com can bridge the gap by allowing you to provide both an auditory and visual context to your memory.
Tiyi's can be happy (weddings) or sad (memorials for lost loved-ones). They can be brights and cheery (a day at the beach) or dark and dreary (the first thunderstorm of the year). But in the end, a Tiyi isn't a Tiyi if can't be experienced and shared.
Memories.tv is composed of a designer device (laptop, cell-phone) and a view device like a SmartTV.
The Tiyi Designer is used to create your Tiyi. To make a Tiyi, a user:
- Identifies a photo-album created with another tool (like Instragram, Facebook or a myriad of others).
- Identifies a "transition" between photos.
- Identifies the music list, media library, or other audio to be played while the photos are presented. (Note: The music license must be owned by the person who creates the Tiyi.)
- Saves the Tiyi and receives a pin to share thier Tiyi with others.
The Viewer is used to experience your Tiyi. To experience the Tiyi, a user
- Opens the site or application in a browser.
- Enters the Tiyi permission code.
- Experiences the Tiyi and shares a beloved memory.
