**On Windows:**

TODO
To build the installer on windows, first make sure the following necessary prerequisites and tools are installed:

1. **Git Bash**: A terminal emulator that provides a Unix-like command-line environment on Windows. It is included with [Git for Windows](https://gitforwindows.org/).

2. **Python (version 3.10 or higher)**: Required to run the Python scripts in the project. Download it from [python.org](https://www.python.org/downloads/).

3. **PyInstaller**: A Python package to create standalone executables. Install it using:
```bash
pip install pyinstaller
```

4. **Inno Setup**: A tool to create Windows installers. Download and install it from [jrsoftware.org](https://jrsoftware.org/).

5. **Windows Defender Exclusions (or Antivirus Configuration)**: To avoid issues with `.exe` files being flagged as potential threats, you may need to add exclusions for the build directory or temporarily disable your antivirus software during the build process.

***Step-by-Step Build Process for Windows***

After installing all the prerequisites proceed to the following steps:

### 1. Clone the Repository
First, clone the repository to your local and cd into the cloned repository:
```bash
git clone https://github.com/kuronosec/zk-firma-digital.git
cd zk-firma-digital
```
### 2. Run the Build Script
While in the root directory of the cloned repository and run the build by executing the Windows build script:
```bash
./builder/build_windows.sh
```
### 3. Locate the Output Files
After running the script:
- The **executable** will be in the `build` directory.
- The **installer file** will be in the `release` directory as `zk-firma-digital-<version>.exe`.
### 5. Troubleshooting
#### Antivirus Issues
During the process of running the windows build script, you might encounter an error indicating that the `.exe` file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software. To resolve this:
- Add the `build` and `release` directories to your antivirus exclusion list.
- If using Windows Defender, follow these steps:
1. Open Windows Security.
2. Go to **Virus & threat protection**.
3. Click on **Manage settings** under **Virus & threat protection settings**
4. Toggle **Real Time Protection** off
4. Scroll down to **Exclusions** and click on **Add or remove exclusions**.
5. Add the paths to the `build` and `release` directories.

#### Missing Tools or Errors
If you encounter errors such as `command not found` for tools like `pyinstaller` or `iscc`, ensure the tools are properly installed and available in your system's `PATH`.
