Word prompt on opening a file

When you open a generated document in Word, it will open a prompt:

This document contains fields which may refer to other files. Do you want to update the fields in this document?

LT;DR: Select Yes.

The OOXML file format that Word consumes is not a pre-rendered file format like PDF. When you open a document, Word will render the file contents into pages and only after that process page numbers are available in e.g. TOC or cross-references. The prompt Word opens during open asks whether it's ok to update page number references after rendering the document. If you select No, all page number references will be "0"; if you select Yes, page number fields are updated to reflect the correct page numbers.

Compatibility

The plug-in has been developed with the latest stable version of DITA-OT. The plug-in may work with older versions of DITA-OT, but there is no official support for it.

The the output has been tested with Microsoft® Word for Mac 2011 and 2017.
