When installed, GoMobile automatically inserts several settings and options for you to choose and customize. Most settings will receive a value automatically, however some may require manual configuration.

GoMobile Settings (Image)

The settings are not grouped/ordered by anything in specific (they are more or less added as needed), however there are two distict types of settings: ones which affect the plugin, and one which affect the theme/display. The screenshot to the right indicates the plugin-related settings. These settings and their functionality are as follows:

  • Theme ID - This number reflects the tid of GoMobile's theme. Although used for the redirect, it is also used below for modifying the breadcrumb. This number shouldn't change unless you reinstall GoMobile. Please note the screenshot does not accurately indicate this, though the updated plugin will.
  • User Agent Strings - Separated by new lines, the list of User Agent strings that will be sent to the mobile version of your site.

Below you will find details regarding the theme-related settings (though some are shared by the plugin aswell).

Theme-Related Settings

As mentioned above, there are a couple theme-related settings. All settings except for the permissions are configured in the Configuration section of your Admin Control Panel.

  • Mobile Board Name - This setting is used to shorten the name of your board in both the header and navigation/breadcrumb. If your board name is long on your regular site, you should save your user's screen real estate and put in a shorter title here. Full HTML is accepted although not recommended.
  • Home Name - The name of the home link in the footer of GoMobile.
  • Home Link - Used with the option above. You may choose to set this to a different homepage than your standard one.
  • Use Theme Permissions? - With this option enabled, you can limit the user groups able to use GoMobile via the standard theme permission settings.

If you wish to limit which usergroups can use GoMobile, you'll have to configure it through the themes section. Note that this affects both Primary and Secondary usergroups. To set this, visit the Templates & Style section of your AdminCP, then select GoMobile, and specify the Allowed User Groups. If you don't use this feature, just disable the "Use Theme Permissions?" option.
