I took the liberty of updating the library to ZXing 1.4.0 including the UTF8 fixes and support for newer barcode formats.
The QR code test failed with slightly different coordinates (off by one pixel) and I added
NDEBUGto the compiler definitions as I stumbled upon a case where an internal assertion resulted in a SIGABRT, taking the Rust application down.
