Description:

Also remove the file, not only the link to it, as per 31f188f#diff-54a294a5d016e1a8e98bc95668ed84a99a9edd5c10394d9a2b1ee848006e98a7

Related issue (if applicable): fixes esphome/feature-requests#52

Pull request in esphome with YAML changes (if applicable): esphome/esphome#6865

The previous solution to periodically poll the webserver of another node to retrieve data is not an efficient way, plus doing so with a password protected node as described relies on a security hole, which sooner or later will (have to) get patched.

Walkthrough

The pull request involves the deletion of the file cookbook/http_request_sensor.rst, which documented the process of sharing data between ESPHome nodes using HTTP requests. This included configurations for a server node to host sensor data and client nodes to retrieve that data. The documentation also covered security measures like authentication and provided YAML examples for both server and client setups.

Changes

Files Change Summary
cookbook/http_request_sensor.rst Deleted; contained documentation on HTTP data sharing between ESPHome nodes.

Assessment against linked issues

    • @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and generate unit testing code.
    • @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.
    • @coderabbitai help me debug CodeRabbit configuration file.

Note: Be mindful of the bot's finite context window. It's strongly recommended to break down tasks such as reading entire modules into smaller chunks. For a focused discussion, use review comments to chat about specific files and their changes, instead of using the PR comments.
