Not sure whether it's indented, but --metadata-ttl option requires --cache directory while --cache directory is not needed and is not used for metadata caching. Also --cache help states that it would Enable caching of object metadata and content to the given directory, but if I'm not mistaken caching of object metadata is not related to --cache directory.

Hi @mhnap. We just merged #855, which enables (and documents) metadata-only caching. Closing #752 and #768.
