Irritatingly, this update leads to some internal infinite loop, eventually clogging all memory.
Bumping max_old_space_size from 4G to 8G eventually runs out of memory as well, so this is not just a small increase in memory, but some kind of leak.
We should probably postpone this update. The associated security risk isn't critical in our case anyways, since the only result would be code execution on our own machines if we wrote code to attack ourselves or an node_module contained code to attack us - but node modules already can execute arbitrary code on installation anyways.
