Speculative loading via the Speculation Rules API can dramatically increase the speed of page navigations. It essentially brings the AMP viewer prerender iframe to a site's origin as a native web platform feature. As such, it should be allowed by the AMP validator for navigations on origin.
Nevertheless, see Impact on Analytics. It may be that
amp-analytics
and other components are not accounting fordocument.prerendering
in the same way as it is for the AMP viewer prerendered state.
