Palettes
There are three palettes the overworld/chest items can have.
The very first colour in each palette is the transparent marker: rgb(0,0,0) black The listed colours are 16bit-RGB as opposed to SNES’s 15bit BGR values. For more information on the SNES palette encoding, see wiki.superfamicom.org/palettes
Due to the very nature of 15bit BGR colours, there are some rounding errors. The Super Nintendo was therefore not able to show bright white rgb(255, 255, 255) or dark black rgb(0, 0, 0).
Please note that all the item palette names are chosen arbitrary and have no special meaning. It is just a reference name. The actual colour palettes contain different colours and have almost-intersections with colours.
