View

The basic function of FoodViewer is showing the information on product labels.

Specifying product

The first step is to specify the product for which information must be shown. This is done by means of the barcode of the product. This can be done, by scanning the barcode, or by typing in the barcode.

Scanning

The scanning view can be opened by tapping on the button in the top bar on the products page. This will open a full screen camera. By pointing it to a barcode, it will be recognised (you need enough light) and the corresponding product (if it exists) will be downloaded from OFF. If the barcode is not recognised, the scanning can be canceled.

Typing

The barcode can also be typed if the scanning does not work. The field for this is available at the top of the products page. One might need to swipe down to reveal the field. Tap on the field and enter the code. Tap enter to start the search on OFF.

Viewing

If the product is available on OFF, it will be downloaded to Foodviewer. In the products view one can see a summary with the most important aspects of a product.

History

The last 100 products one has specified are available on the products page. Just scroll down to see your previously scanned products. The latest product downloads are also available within FoodViewer, so they can also be seen offline.
