SteamDB app page links to a few games using this

Brief explanation of the change

Added "E-mote", a Japanese software developed by M2 Co., Ltd, which is primarily used in visual novels to create highly animated and expressive character sprites. Notable visual novels like Nekopara have used it for their animations.

Correct. I can confirm that, excluding demos, all of the titles are tagged as 'Visual Novel' on Steam. The sole exception is Rune Factory 4 Special, which happens to be an RPG. "E-mote" can be seen at 1:13 in the second trailer (you may also refer to the .webm below):
