The Tracking Station

The "doubling rule" does not work with the Tracking Station, due to the distances involved in KSP. If we merely doubled the tracking stations power each time, several upgrades would be useless.

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU THINK AHEAD ON TRACKING STATION UPGRADES. YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF WASTING TIME IF YOU DO NOT

The following applies to the stock Kerbin system. I would recommend that you change the limits in the CBK config if you are using a planet pack, especially at larger scales. The tracking station is balanced as follows:

• Lv1 - Enough DSN power to just about reach a 250km orbit with no antenna.
• Lv2 - Enough DSN power to just about reach Mun with a Communotron 16
• Lv3 - Enough DSN power to just about leave Kerbins SOI
• Lv4 - Enough DSN power to reach Duna and Eve when they are reasonably close with a DTS-M1 or RA2
• Lv5 - Enough DSN power to reach anywhere in the stock system with the appropriate antenna
