How to contribute?

Send the unprocessed - or, better, the link to an unprocessed - high resolution in-game FSS screenshot to https://discord.gg/u75sDnm, in the #exploration channel. Or:

Create the icon:

  • Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/EDDiscovery/ImageRepository.git

  • Open Templates.xcf in gimp (>= 2.10) Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Drag the screenshots in the layers list, right above "black". Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Resize the layer until you get a good fit: Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • That's good! Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Use your best photo retouching skills to have the blue semi-cricles disappear... Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Then, when you are satisfied, apply the biggest circular mask to the image, and create a new layer from visible". The new layer MUST be above the crop layer - planets or stars, depending for your are working with. Probably planets, as stars are already all there... Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Apply a circular blur filter to ONLY the radial perimeter. That's for better border antialiasing. Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Then, create an new composite layer with the previous whole image and the blurred perimeter. And apply a soft shadow to it. Choose the color which fit better with the body image: Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • You are good to go! Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Do not forget to properly export it as a PNG: Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

Provide the body details:

  • Open a SQLite editor. I use DB Browser for SQLite... Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Open BodiesDetails.db in it: Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Carefully create a new record, filling all relevant details: Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

  • Save the DB! Open Templates.xcf in GIMP

Then, create a PR! ;)
