⚠️ Outdated!

This guide has now been dismissed as it's no longer necessary.

The configuration needed for the emulator is now included in a DMG file, so you don't need to do most of this anymore!

Just drag the rpcs3 folder in the folder the DMG tells you to, and you'll be good to go.

The only other steps you still need to follow are the firmware and RPCN set up, because of (respectively) legal and obvious reasons.

This wiki page will document how users can install/play PlayStation®Home on macOS.

Downloading and installing

1. You can download our latest macOS RPCS3 build here. macOS makes it easy to extract it, and in most cases it should automatically do it for you, but in the off-chance it doesn't, double-clicking its icon in the Finder will launch Compression Utility and unpack the archive. Continue by launching the emulator.

This is what the ZIP archive you need to download, and the extracted emulator, will look like: DownloadedArchive

2. Once you've opened RPCS3, you'll need to install the PS3 firmware and our Home PKG.

  • To install the PS3 firmware, you can get it directly from Sony's official website here (direct download). Then, drag and drop the file into the RPCS3 menu, and let it install.
  • To obtain our Home PKG, please open a ticket in our Discord server, where we will send it to you. Once you've got it, simply drag and drop it into the RPCS3 menu the same way you did for the firmware and let it install.

Once you've installed the firmware and the game, you should see something like this: OpenedEmulator

3. Lastly, you'll need to create an RPCN account, and configure the PlayStation Home game settings.

  • To create a RPCN account, you can follow this section of our guide.

  • To configure PlayStation Home, you'll need our MLAA patch and this config file. Next, copy the imported_patch.yml file into ~/Library/Application Support/rpcs3/patches, and copy the config_NPIA00005.yml into ~/Library/Application Support/rpcs3/custom_configs.

    • Tip: you can launch Spotlight by using CMD + Space bar and pasting ~/Library/Application Support/rpcs3 in the search field, to quickly open the folder in the Finder app. From here, you can easily locate the correct folders and place the files. You must have launched the emulator at least once, for this folder to exist!
  • Finally, open RPCS3, right-click on PlayStation Home -> Manage Game Patches, and tick the Disable MLAA option underneath PlayStation: Home/NPIA00005 v01.87

To enable the "Disable MLAA" patch, tick this check-box: EnabledMLAAPatch

And you're set up! Simply open a ticket in our Discord server to get whitelisted, and you're good to go!
