Basic Manual Install
Visit https://github.com/DarkoPendragon/minds-darker/releases/latest and download the latest version of Minds Darker (it will be a .rar file named similar to minds-darker-x.x.x), in this example the file I'm downloading is minds-darker-1.2.1.
Using something like WinRar or 7Zip, open up the Minds Darker .rar file. It'll look something like this:
Anywhere on you computer, make a new folder. It can be named whatever you want. For this example it's named Minds Darker. In this newly made folder extract the files from the .rar file. Now you should have something like:
After opening settings you'll need to find your extensions. You can alternatively try putting chrome://extensions/ in your search bar. You may need to open the side bar at the top, like in Chrome:
Or visit your advanced settings. On some browsers (well, most) you can also right click any extension icon on the top right and click Manage Extensions.
On the top right (usually) there's a toggle for Developer Mode. This will allow you to install unpacked extensions. Enable it like so:
First, click Load unpacked extension:
Now, find the folder you made slightly earlier (it'll be the one with manifest.json in it), then while in the folder click "Select Folder":

Updating is relatively simple. Download the newest release like before, but this time instead of making a new folder and going through the other steps. extract or copy/paste the new files into the folder that is already made. Replace all files when prompted.
Then, in your browser go back to the extensions page and "reload" Minds Darker by clicking the refresh icon:
That's it, you've updated!
