Satellite Imagery Information

This is a list of all of the satellite imagery providers that we have access to, with information about their capabilities. Check the Google Doc for access information.
- 3-5M resolution.
- Commercial Data, California data appears to be released CC BY-SA
- Very regular updates, and has many images of the same area.
- We have an Explorer account.
- Runs on Amazon EC2 (US West 2 Region, in Oregon) and recommends processing there.
Band 8 (polyspectral)
- 30M resolution, but highly multispectral. Polyspectral data at 15M.
- US Government data. Free access.
- Each sensor has its own tif image—many sensors.
- Recent data is hosted on Amazon S3
- Nice python command line tool
- ~0.3M/pixel, at zoom level 19.
- Free until exceeding 25,000 map loads per day for 90 consecutive days.
- $0.50 USD / 1,000 additional map loads above 25,000 per day after reaching 25,000 map load / 90 day usage limit, up to 1,000,000 daily
- 1,000,000 images would be $500 (or 40 days of free access)
