While our user stories were well thought out and constructed, we did not modularise our issues sufficiently. We struggled a lot to figure out where to begin with the issues we took on, and it was only until we met with Michael at OH that we realized a key part of the problem was that we had not broken down the issues sufficiently. This became our new priority: make sure that all of the issues were small and specific enough such that there was a clearer approach. We also spent much time trying to figure out whether these issues were comprehensive, but also deferred the discussion on tying everything together (end-to-end integration).
Because of these logistical and pre-implementation struggles, we heavily compromised our development through this entire project.
See the response to Team Experience for a thorough discussion of what we would do differently if we were to redo this series of sprints.
