Releases: BlueSwordM/Riders-Dolphin-EX
ExGL Riders V1.0.5
IF YOU HAVE NOT USED DOLPHIN BEFORE, YOU NEED THESE DEPENDENCIES
- 7-Zip: https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z2105-x64.exe
- Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2019: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
It's been a few months, but the ExGL V1.05 Dolphin build is finally ready to play with.
It's a rather big update from ExGL V1.01, but there's a pretty good reason why it's not ExGL V1.1:
- Auto-updates for Windows are not in yet.
- The automatic setup build script for Windows especially, and Linux, are not ready yet.
Main Dolphin changes from ExGL V1.01 to V1.05:
- The TMem patch is now inside of the main branch, so my custom TMem patch is not needed anymore.
- GBA compatibility is now in!
- Riivolution support is also a thing now for easier updates.
- Some options are named differently.
- The old Gecko code editor is now back in full force from Dolphin 5.0 Stable, with lots of nice changes added to it.
- Lots of other very nice QOL changes.
- New HD texture pack for Sonic Riders Zero Gravity/Regravitified
- Massive performance increase for Sonic Riders Zero Gravity/Regravitified
- Slight per-game performance tweaks.
IMPORTANT NOTE
A new file called UPDATE_ExGL-V1.01-to-1.05_Windows has been added.
Its purpose is to help those transitioning from ExGL V1.01 to V1.05 without losing any of their settings. It contains the new ExGL Dolphin V1.05 binary and the new important Sys folder containing the new settings: IE, download and use these to replace old files in your current ExGL Dolphin folder.
That is, you just need to copy them over to your old ExGL Dolphin V1.01 folder and everything should be good to go.
ExGL Riders V1.0.1 Stable Release
Now that the "semi" public release has been battle tested and works well, it's ready for a wide public release!
This is the exact same version as the V1.0 release, except with a few additions (such as a PS5 controller profile) and HD texture versions, as well as a macOS version coming very soon.
For context, here are the various differences between the various Windows ExGL Dolphin builds
-
Base ExGL V1.0.1 Dolphin (Windows): includes portable build, with everything mostly already setup, including controller profiles, optimizations, game profiles, game codes such as the 16:9 Gecko code for Riders. Recommended for those who already have everything set up prior to this build and are decently knowledgeable for setting up stuff.
-
ExGL V1.0.1 Dolphin with 720p HD textures (Windows): the same except it includes 720p HD textures and is set up to play at 720p by default. It consumes 60MB of RAM, and any modern PC that can run Dolphin reasonably well should have zero problem running this versions while still looking a lot better than the OG. Recommended for most machines that can run Dolphin well
-
ExGL V1.0.1 Dolphin with 1440p HD textures (Windows): the same except it includes 1440p HD textures and is set up to play at 1080p by default. The pack consumes 235MB of RAM, and any modern PC with a good dedicated graphics card(like a GTX 750Ti) should have no problem playing this version, and looks better than the 720p pack in many ways on bigger higher resolution screens. Not recommended for lower-end machines
The other versions are the same(Linux), and I will be later including the full ExGL version with the patcher, HD textures, and the 7-zip ZStd installer alongside the MSVC 2019 C++ library installer.
Have fun, ride there, ride on!
ExGL Riders V1.0 Semi-Public WIP Release
So, after so long, I've finally built a semi-custom Riders build!
This Dolphin build includes many optimizations and modifications to be more playable
with both mainline Sonic Riders games and modifications to these games(Sonic Riders DX and Sonic Riders Regravitified, and even Sonic Riders Tournament Edition!)
It includes many optimizations, Quality of Life(QOL) improvements, customizations, and many more!
1. Semi-custom patch that fixes the Riders cutscenes.
2. Netplay and multiplayer optimizations for both games.
3. Pre-included controller profiles: multiple keyboard profiles, and one profile for PS4 and Xbox One/360 controller respectively, as well as a few other profiles.
4. Included SRDX HD texture pack build and even full patchers build with everything you need to setup Dolphin and the like.
5. Multiple included custom theme, courtesy of this guy(none of the current themes belong to the ExGL team):

6. Windows, and Linux stable portable builds, so you can play anywhere.
macOS portable builds are currently being built, so don't fret macOS players. 😛
As for why it's a semi-public release, not all the builds have been released, as some kinks are being worked out for them. Also, Regravitified seems to work well with the latest build, but some people on older builds seem to have issues, so see this release a public testing ground :p
No HD texture release yet as you can see, so you'll need to change your texture(load) and game folder in Config -> Paths to where they were previously located, as it is a fully portable fully enclosed build, unless you are on Linux, in which it will behave normally when it comes to settings saving.
And a lot more subtle changes as well you will notice when interacting in Dolphin and playing the games. :)
I hope you all like it, and have a wonderful time playing with the ExGL Dolphin Riders build all day long :D
