Pre-release

These changes are upcoming in v3.50.5, and this release is mainly for testing the alternative pre-release workflow. The version will be possible to specifically choose when testing in LocalTest. (this release failed and never resulted in anything, see v3.50.5-alpha2 for the follow-up).
