Following up on #152, this is to fill out the file types for which it's possible to infer the extension and compression from the file path. As of the creation of this ticket fastq and fasta are supported.

  • fasta
  • fastq

Relatively important given more diverse extensions used in practice.

Other

  • bam
  • bcf
  • bigwig
  • cram
  • fcs
  • genbank
  • sam
  • vcf
