%110 of my papers had a student co-author I supervised or co-supervised. \\
All papers which received a distinguished paper award had a student co-author. \\
I published joint papers with 144 co-authors (DBLP data). \\
\paragraph{Choice of scientific venues.}
When submitting a paper, I carefully select the target venue as follows:
\begin{itemize}[leftmargin=0.5cm]
\item My direct research area is model-based software and systems engineering where the top venues of the area are the \emph{IEEE/ACM MODELS conference} (Int. Conf. on Model Driven Engineering, Languages and Systems, previously known as the UML conference) and the \emph{Software and Systems Modeling} (Springer) journal. As such, many of my results have been published at these two venues.
\item When a research result may be interesting for a broader software engineering audience, I may target major general-purpose software engineering conferences like \emph{ICSE} (ACM/IEEE Int. Conf. on Software Engineering), \emph{ESEC/FSE} (Foundations of Software Engineering), \emph{ASE} (IEEE Automated Software Engineering Conf.) or \emph{FASE} (Fundamental Approaches to Software Engineering) and journals like \emph{IEEE Software}, \emph{Science of Computer Programming} (Elsevier), \emph{Software Tools on Technology Transfer} (Springer), \emph{IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering}, \emph{Automated Software Engineering} (Springer), \emph{Information \& Software Technology}, etc. I do not primarily check the impact factor (or other numerical classification) of such journals, but I rather verify if highly respected researchers regularly publish there.
\item I regularly publish results at smaller thematic conferences where I can get feedback from the top experts of a particular area, such as \emph{ICMT} (Int. Conf. on Model Transformations), \emph{ECMFA} (European Conf. on Modeling Foundations and Applications), \emph{VL/HCC} (IEEE Int. Symposium on Visual Languages and Human-Centric Computing), \emph{ICST} (IEEE Int. Conf on Software Testing, Verification and Validation), etc.
\item When the formal foundations of our graph-based research needs to be presented, I regularly published at \emph{ICGT} (Int. Conf. on Graph Transformation).
\item Finally, we also published certain results at international workshops or electronic journals which provides an initial practice for my graduate students in scientific writing as well as an early feedback from senior experts of the field.
\end{itemize}
\paragraph{Comments to publication list:}
Names of students who worked under my supervision (or co-supervision) at the time of publication are marked with \textsuperscript{*}. The first author of a paper is frequently a graduate student who made the most direct contribution to the research. The last author is typically the supervisor who signs the research program. However, other policies of authorship are also common in case of cross-institutional collaborations (e.g. alphabetical order, mixed alphabetical, etc.). My own name is printed in \textbf{bold}, while my name is also \textbf{\underline{underlined}} for \emph{publications related to the research program I initiated when joining McGill University} (i.e. Stage 2 as explained in \autoref{sec:research-portfolio}). %As a consequence, I may exclude some papers when I already had a McGill affiliation or include a few papers without a McGill affiliation, but the the categorization of a few papers may not be unambiguous, but it still better reflects the role of the research program.
