IndexNow allows for faster indexing of new content.
When a user adds a new post, this extension could ping the search engines.

Google Indexing API is not for forums:

Currently, the Indexing API can only be used to crawl pages with either JobPosting or BroadcastEvent embedded in a VideoObject

In that case, these SEO specialists might not be aware that the Google Indexing API isn't designed to work with all types of content. Here's a relevant piece of information: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-indexing-api-removal-35201.html. It confirms that the API might index other content types initially, but they tend to be de-indexed after a few days.
The Google Indexing API is specifically designed for short-lived content types like JobPosting or BroadcastEvent.

Wow looking through the issues, it's amazing almost 2025 and Google still hasn't implemented IndexNow, I guess it won't happen... 🤦
