Instructions to build lnav on Apple Silicon Mac

Hi,

I’ve just struggled through this process and managed to build lnav from source on an ARM-64 Mac. Instructions are below. Hope this helps someone who wants to run lnav on an M-series Mac and to avoid having to have the X86-64 brew installed as well.

# install build tools
brew install cmake autoconf automake libtool gcc

#install lnav pre-requisites
brew install readline sqlite pcre2 ncurses xz lz4

# get lnav source
git clone https://github.com/tstack/lnav.git

# change to build directory
cd lnav

# generate .configure
./autogen.sh

./configure CXX=/opt/homebrew/bin/g++-14 CFLAGS="-arch arm64" \
CXXFLAGS="-std=c++17 -arch arm64" \
CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/homebrew/include -I/opt/homebrew/opt/readline/include -I/opt/homebrew/opt/zlib/include -I/opt/homebrew/opt/ncurses/include" \
LDFLAGS="-L/opt/homebrew/lib -L/opt/homebrew/opt/readline/lib -L/opt/homebrew/opt/zlib/lib -L/opt/homebrew/opt/ncurses/lib -arch arm64" \
--prefix=/opt/homebrew

make
sudo make install

#remove build directory
cd ..
rm -rf lnav
