The Translation Program is a collaborative effort to translate various documents related to Tact into multiple languages, making the website more accessible to billions of non-English speakers worldwide.
Context
We are committed to creating an open infrastructure for multilingual community collaboration to advance Tact to a better phase, which includes:
Suitable for multilingual communities
The program supports multiple languages, ensuring inclusivity and ease of access for users from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
Automate development, integration, and deployment
By leveraging automation tools, the program streamlines the processes of development, integration, and deployment, reducing manual efforts and enhancing efficiency and consistency across all localization efforts.
Decoupling the roles of developer, translator, and verifier
Our approach separates the responsibilities of developers, translators, and verifiers, allowing each role to focus on their specific tasks. This ensures high-quality translations and smooth collaboration without overlap or conflict of duties.
Community contribution incentive
We provide incentives for community members who contribute to the localization process. This encourages active participation and rewards those who help improve the program, fostering a sense of ownership and community spirit.
Integration of advanced AI systems
Advanced AI systems enhance translation accuracy and efficiency by providing intelligent suggestions and automating repetitive tasks, ensuring high-quality results with less effort.
Ongoing quality checks and improvements
To ensure the highest quality translations, we have implemented several checks:
Link verification: All internal links are valid and correctly point to their destinations.
Formatting consistency: Pages are compliant with Tact’s formatting standards.
MDX component functionality: All MDX components, such as Steps and Tabs, continue to work as expected.
Dual i18n Framework Integration
To support Tact documentation’s localization across evolving frameworks, we have developed two versions of i18n integration.
Nextra Adaptation:
The initial Tact documentation framework utilized Nextra, where we integrated a robust i18n system, leveraging its native features for seamless multilingual support.
Astro Integration:
As Tact transitioned to Astro for its documentation framework, a new i18n integration was developed to accommodate Astro’s architecture.
Both integrations maintain consistency in terms of glossary usage and translation workflows, enabling a smooth developer and contributor experience regardless of the underlying framework.
Thank you for your proposal. After careful review, we regret to inform you that we cannot proceed with it at this time. TON Docs already supports a wide range of languages, and the proposal does not clearly demonstrate how the suggested AI system would provide additional value. Moreover, all documentation articles are currently written by high-quality technical writers to ensure accuracy and clarity, which raises concerns about how AI could effectively contribute to this process without compromising the existing standards.
We encourage you to refine your proposal with detailed insights into the system’s functionality and its potential impact on maintaining or improving the quality of the documentation. Thank you for your and efforts the same as for #878
