Object cache

Hi, great plugin that works really well and saves me a great deal of time. I am using this plugin quite heavily on my ecommerce site to make images look their best and thus building up many cropped images. In turn, my website crashed suggesting the object cache.php had been exhausted. Can this plugin be used heavily without causing my website to slow down by effecting the cache or should I use it only when needed?
