How to modify footnote styling

Hi all,

As per the title, I'm trying to modify the styling of footnotes in the basic template. It does mention to modify the .fndef elements but I'd like to completely change the styling to the following format shown here.

I'm not proficient with CSS so I'd really appreciate any help regarding this. Thanks in advance!
