Why brew install python depedency?

My Mac has Python 2.7.5 but the formula is making brew install a separate copy of 2.7.6 anyway — really?! This isn't MacPorts…

I have done the install using the standard Python, and it is possible, but it is a huge hassle due to various dependencies. I did it to save disk space, and because I am stubborn, but in retrospect I cannot recommend it as it leads to many technically tricky side problems and will require several formuli to be manually modified.
