Hi Rita - this is a proximity reader for access control that allows a contactless credential to be presented from the user to grant entry to a door etc.

not work? Is your example using something different?

This is a HID Card, also called prox cards, proximity cards & access control cards, are cards that use RFID embedded technology. HID card readers are used in access control systems to open doors. They are under the umbrella of RFID tech but a subset of them so I feel PROXR may be more suitable/descriptive. I have attached the data sheet link below: https://www.hidglobal.com/products/40
