AT TDWG 2015, a groupe spoke with Ramona Walls (BCO) and Pier Buttigieg (ENVO) about some of the key metadata fields (sampleType, materialType, and samplingMethod) and how we can make a single “kernel” or “profile” work for both bio- and geo-, using some formal ontology to help clarify the definitions. Based on feedback from Ramona and Pier, I made some preliminary comments about what we’re thinking on the IGSN Kernel Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uX2wbhfLDxgOvh4Y0BxggC0lTtWu3ZWc00oMcUiR8w8/edit).

This doesn't seem to be a website or other technical infrastructure task. I think in our discussions at the meeting, we determined we probably do need the project that you had talked about creating for IG/TG conveners to have discussions across groups. Or is this a specific discussion under a particular interest group and should it be happening using their discussion mechanism? (GBWG?)

I am not sure, from reading their mail, what the purpose is actually, so I created a ticket with what they said in their mail.. I needs indeed clarification from their side and from the discussion you had at TDWG.
