First I want to say that I love this project and am grateful you shared it with us. I've setup PiFrame on a Raspberry Pi 4 with the 7" official touchscreen syncing to a folder on my Nextcloud instance. The goal being to share pictures of my son and nephew with my parents, and they love it. It's been running for over a month with no issues. I also installed Tailscale to maintain the project remotely for my them.
I've noticed that the photos display in the same order each time, the order that they're stored and synced with Nextcloud. I'm curious if there's a way for you to implement an option to shuffle or randomize the order in which the images are displayed. This is a nitpicky request, but I thought it would be a nice feature to add to your project. I did some searching, but I'm not very experienced with javascript and wasn't confident I could drop any of the solutions into your project without breaking something.
If there's already this functionality and I've overlooked it, I do apologize. Thank you for your time and the work you do. Take care.
