We don't have a citation for BinMaxHead. Is it from Van Handel?

Oh, it's from Prieto (2007), "Phonological phrasing in Spanish".

See: #276
This was supposed to be an implementation of a constraint proposed by Junko & Armin for Japanese compounds (not sure what paper!) but it may be the same as Prieto's

This was supposed to be based on MaxBinHead(w) in (18) in Ito & Mester 2007, which has to count feet/syllables to yield the violation profiles seen in (19) and so on -- so the branch-counting implementation here isn't quite right.
