Dropdown: Functionality to "unselect" choice

I am building a search filter based on selections in a dropdown. If you have set a value in one dropdown, and then decided you did not want to include it in the search there is no way to clear it

A clearable option, i.e. a little x or something to the far right of the dropdown you can click, and it clears the state, or a button you can attach some callback-function to

This can be useful my scenario, and I guess there might be others who want to build up search-filters in this way in the future

If the functionality is there and I seem to not have found it (which might very well be the case), then im sorry for interrupting :)
