Hi, my name is Juan Carlos. I am a mathematician living in Australia where I develop online interactive online applets for teaching and learning mathematics with open-source software at different levels of education.

In my years of experience teaching at undergraduate level, I have noticed how students struggle to understand abstract concepts of Complex Analysis, a central subject in mathematics. For that reason, in 2015, I started creating a set of online applets to help students to visualise complex numbers, plot complex functions and series of complex numbers.

In essence, this is an online book that provides an interactive introduction to the theory and applications of complex functions from a visual point of view. It consists of a collection of selected topics and interactive applets and its main goal to provide a supplementary learning resource to anyone interested in learning this fascinating branch of mathematics.

What distinguishes this online book from other traditional texts in the first instance is the use of interactive applets that allow the user to explore properties of complex numbers geometrically and analyse complex functions by using different techniques to visualise them.
